Interaction Design

Interaction Design for Clear, Reliable User Experiences

I design interaction systems that help users understand what to do next, complete tasks with confidence, and trust the product over time.

Core Interaction Design Focus

  • Flow design for onboarding, conversion, and retention.
  • State modeling: loading, error, empty, success, and edge-case behavior.
  • Prototyping and validation before expensive implementation.
  • A/B testing of meaningful interface alternatives when traffic supports a valid experiment.
  • Design-engineering handoff that preserves behavior quality in production.

Testable Interaction Design

Strong Interfaces Emerge When Good Alternatives Compete

Interface teams often argue about two options that are both defensible: fewer fields now or richer data earlier, visible controls or progressive disclosure, a stronger call to action or calmer copy. Instead of letting hierarchy or taste settle the debate, I turn the uncertainty into a testable product question.

A useful experiment does more than select a winner. It reveals why users hesitate, which cues build confidence, and where a design is borrowing attention from another part of the journey. That learning becomes reusable product knowledge, so each test improves the system rather than only one screen.

How My Work Relates to Interaction Design

WiFi.ee

Built cross-platform interactions from web purchase to mobile usage management, focused on consistency and low-friction user decisions.

Elsa Figueira

Structured narrative and content interactions for a social-impact campaign so users could move through sensitive topics with clarity and context.

Green Filter Chrome Extension

Designed in-flow prompts to support decisions at the exact moment users evaluated products and prices during browsing.

Ziran Taiwan

Improved interaction clarity in brand and product communication flows so users could understand offerings faster and with less cognitive load.

Short AI Video Story Concepts

These story and script seeds can become short AI-generated videos that show how interaction design makes digital products easier to understand and trust.

The Interface Learns to Speak

Story: A product full of unclear states begins to communicate through feedback, affordances, transitions, and next-step cues.

Script: Open on a user hovering, waiting, and wondering what happened. HAAM maps each state, adds the right signal at the right moment, and the same task becomes understandable from first click to completion.

Production note: Animate buttons, focus states, errors, loading indicators, and confirmations as characters in the story.

The Flow That Stops Leaking Intent

Story: A user enters with motivation, but each unclear decision point drains confidence until the interaction path is redesigned around momentum.

Script: Scene one: intent fades at confusing steps. Scene two: HAAM prototypes the path, validates behavior, and tightens handoff notes. Scene three: the user completes the journey with fewer doubts and clearer feedback.

Production note: Use a glowing path metaphor to show intent either leaking away or moving smoothly through the product.

FAQ: Interaction Design Expertise

What kind of interaction design projects do you take on?

I work on web apps, product interfaces, and interactive storytelling experiences where flows, state transitions, and behavior quality directly affect outcomes.

Can you handle both interaction design and implementation?

Yes. I bridge design and engineering, so interaction decisions are validated in real interfaces and shipped with production constraints in mind.

How do A/B tests fit into interaction design?

When a product has enough traffic, I use A/B tests to compare meaningful interaction choices such as information order, progressive disclosure, form structure, navigation, or calls to action. The test is designed around a user problem and includes guardrails for trust, accessibility, and retention, not only a conversion target.

How do you ensure interaction quality after launch?

I use analytics, usability feedback, controlled experiments, and iteration loops to refine interactions based on real user behavior rather than assumptions.
